Education

Education is at the core of the National Association of Home Builders' mission. Building industry professionals recognize NAHB as a premier repository of housing knowledge and regularly turn to the association for their continuing education needs. Through NAHB and its state and local affiliates, NAHBGreen helps prepare the industry for the increasing interest in sustainable construction by offering a variety of green building educational opportunities.

The Certified Green Professional (CGP) curriculum and designation enables builders, remodelers, and other housing industry professionals to gain green expertise.

The Master Certified Green Professional (MCGP) curriculum and designation (designation available to building/remodeling practitioners only) expands on the CGP curriculum with course work on advanced green building science and green building project management.

Looking for a CGP or MCGP near you? Search the online directory for professionals with NAHB home building designations!

The National Green Building Conference & Expo is another place to find a wealth of green building educational opportunities. Each year, building professionals from across the country - including remodelers, architects, engineers and others - look forward to the conference to hear the latest from industry experts and to see the latest products for green construction. Highlights include seminars, an Expo hall, and other special presentations, including the annual National Green Building Awards, and the Green Building Home & Technology Tour, which features innovative homes, remodeling projects, and developments.

Finally, the world-renowned International Builders' Show provides attendees with even more opportunities to learn with an entire educational track devoted to green building as well as special events on the show’s annual "Green Day."
